Sharon Leal as Sade Peters
I first encountered this beautiful actress in Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married?" as she played opposite Tyler himself as his work-a-holic wife.
Sade Peters' portrayer must be a leading lady who can bring forth the different arrays of emotion that Sade goes through. Sade is the character that pulls the audience in, commanding them to love her, hate her situation, and pray her through her travesty. Can Sharon bring that passion to the screen as a leading lady? I'd bet the farm on it.
Keshia Knight-Pulliam as Talia James
We all knew and loved the youngest member of the Huxtable family, Rudy. Well, she's all grown up now and I'd love to see her in the role of Talia James, my breakout character in Consequences.
I need an actress who can transform from a rough around the edges young girl to a classy grown up. Keshia is that actress, and being that she is a woman after Sade's own heart, I think she and Sharon Leal will work great together.
Lisa Rodriguez as Renee Sinclair
Though I've only seen this Latino beauty in "Next Friday", I have to say her inner beauty shone as bright as her outer beauty.
Carlos Monroe's fiancee, Renee Sinclair, will remind readers of Sade Peters, and for that alone they will love her. Lisa's fiery resolve is perfect for the role of Renee Sinclair; a woman who will fight for her man.
Regina King as Nita Taylor
I knew from the first description of Nita Taylor that only Regina King could do this no nonsense sister justice.
Nita is Sade's sister and they're as different as night and day. Nita would never settle into the role of the submissive wife that Sade is content with. Instead she chooses to enlist in the Army and travel the world. Even though Sade attempts to set Nita up with Andre's best friend, Julian, Nita's gaydar says, hell no.
Idris Elba as Andre Peters
Sex appeal describes Idris Elba to a tee. That's what I want to bring forward in Andre Peters' character; a man who is so sexy that women don't look at him and immediately assume he is on the down low.
Andre Peters is a complicated man, one that readers absolutely hate as he shows no regard for the lives he destroys due to his ignorance of denial. I have no doubt that Idris can bring this character to life in a big way! He impressed me in his fatherly role in Tyler Perry's hit movie, "Daddy's Little Girls", as well as his not so good-guy roles in "This Christmas" and "The Gospel."
Mel Jackson as Julian Tate
Since his role in "Soul Food", I've been drawn to this character. Though I don't see him as a gay or down low brother, by far, he surely has the 'pretty boy' looks to portray Andre's first male lover, Julian Tate.
Brian White as Carlos Monroe
Brian White is one of Hollywood's sexiest men and I loved him in both "The Family Stone" and "Stomp the Yard."
It's White's quiet, yet strong-willed reserve and self-pride that makes him perfect for the role of Carlos Monroe.
Michael Ealy as Reggie Wilson
When I think of light-skinned, sexy, and strong-physically, mentally, and emotionally, one man comes to mind and that one man is Michael Ealy.
This actor first wowed me as Ricky in "Barber Shop" and I'd like to see more depth from him. He's perfect for the role of Reggie Wilson, Talia's best friend and eventual love interest.
